In this tutorial we'll explore techniques in Black Magic's Fusion to integrate a 3D render into a live action plate. We'll be looking at a ton of different techniques that can be used to composite a convincing shot. This tutorial will range from color space, to 3d tracking data, to alembic files and color grading. We'll discuss different techniques and approaches for various situations.
In this chapter we'll look at how to handle color space in Fusion. We'll see the different ways that we can match color space from our plate to our render and visa versa. We'll also explore how to set up a linear workflow.
Next we'll bring in some render passes and recreate our beauty passes in various ways. We'll see how we need to layer these passes to make our composite work and set them up for ultimate control for the shot.
Now we'll bring in the 3D tracked camera data for our shot. We'll explore different techniques that we can use to help achieve a quick desired result. We'll have also have a look at how this data can be used in various ways to create an extended environment for our plate.
In this chapter we'll import the alembic data of our animation. We'll use this data to create custom render passes and to relight the scene inside of Fusion.
We'll finish this video by beginning to explore the various methods we can use to integrate our 3D render to match our plate. We'll discuss all of the aspects that are involved which will help us get a smooth result. We'll also create a style for our shot and render out a final result.
